The Power of Water: Healing & Enchanting

1 min read

Water has been the pillar of every civilization since the first soul walked on our planet. Yet, even though we do agree on the fact that water is known to exist in 3 different states (liquid, solid, and gas), water is more than an element. It is the key foundation in each of our destinations. Snow, Sea, Spa, River, Clouds, water is everywhere for those who seek its healing properties.

Jane Austen once said: “Where the waters do agree, it is quite wonderful the relief they give.” Indeed, no matter the contemplation, water brings this soothing energy to the heart, a sense of belonging. Belonging to a place, somewhere in the present time, as an enchantment to the soul and mind.

Since those ancient times, water has been one of the most effective elements in balancing body and soul. From within, water is a spiritual awakening. Letting go as the water flows to leave any worries behind. From without, the gentle touch of water is like a purification for the body in its most scientific definition.

Howbeit, whatever the destination, water will embrace you with its peaceful arms.

While it’s cold, and mystical outside, admire the snowflakes dropping one by one, like some gentle flowers, from the coziness of your living-room in Courchevel. A graceful dance in the sky of one of the most surprising elements of all.

For those of you who are looking for a sunny break, water is also a warming hug of a late afternoon dive in the pristine waters of the “Plage des Flamands” in St-Barth or down the glamorous French Riviera in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Be whisk away to a realm of an ultimate unwinding, and surrender to the present moment.

After a fabulous day around Paris, New York or even London, you may have encountered water by the rivers flowing through those cities: The Seine River, the Hudson River, the River Thames. Strong, ardent, zealous. Those water sources first played a role of protection from invaders, before holding a major part during the Industrial Revolution. All the industrial companies used those water canals to carry their goods all around the world. Therefore, the shape of those cities, at that time, highly depended on their rivers.

However, in those hectic cities, water can be found in a more gentle approach. Who never dreamt of a warm sauna or hammam while reflecting on the day that has passed by? For centuries, civilizations from all over the world, Romans, Greeks, Turks, Vikings, have noticed the healing power of water for the mind and body. But make no mistake, those rituals were also a place of encounter and negotiation. Alliances were made, and the rest is History.

Source of inspiration, from Hokusai to David Hockney, Claude Monet and Winston Churchill, water has always been a mesmerizing essence. A mysterious component that none can tame; the latter being its key for being the greatest source of admiration from all over the world. The untouchable touchable symbol of time.

Water is air, water is pure, water is like a lover saying hi, and holding you so tight for you to feel its tenderness.
This is the power of water, to disconnect, and reconnect with your own emotions. To admire it as it is, today, before you in each of The Collection properties.
