Paris is gearing up to welcome the world for the 2024 Olympics, and the excitement is palpable. Every street corner pulses with growing anticipation. The atmosphere in Paris ahead of the Games feels like Christmas, with the bustling preparations giving the event a uniquely festive aura.

Olympic excitement in the heart of the 8th arrondissement

The 8th arrondissement is alive with activity, the city adorned in its finest, transforming before your eyes. Just a stone’s throw from Maison Villeroy, iconic Parisian thoroughfares like the Champs-Élysées, Avenue Montaigne, and the quays of the Seine are illuminated for the preliminary festivities. The avenues are graced with the magic of events such as the torch relay and road races, adding to the festive atmosphere that envelops the city.

Arrondissement Olympics: a local celebration

Starting June 22, dive into the Borough Olympics with nearby competitions in 3×3 basketball, table tennis, and breaking. The victors, to be crowned “Champions of Paris” on July 13, will win tickets to the Games, further fueling the widespread excitement.

A tribute to Olympic history

From June 23, commemorative plaques of Olympic Paris 1924-2024 will be installed, paying tribute to Olympic history. These plaques, adorning the iconic sites of the 1924 Games and those to come, offer a unique opportunity to rediscover Olympic Paris.

The Parisian Croisette at Canal Saint-Martin

From July 6 to September 1, the Canal Saint-Martin will be transformed into a “Parisian Croisette”, inviting visitors to take a cultural and sporting stroll. On July 14, the Olympic flame’s journey will conclude with spectacular celebrations at the Hotel de Ville, followed by fireworks and a concert by the Orchestre de Radio France on the Champ-de-Mars.
